The average person will use about 340 Litres of Water per-day and the average household will consume about 900 Litres of water per-day. These are just averages, as some people can consumer as little as 100 Litres per-day, and others over 400 litres.
How many litres does a shower use per-minute?
Now this question has a lot to do with the type of shower head you have. If you use a ‘water saving’ shower head, on average it will ues about 9 litres of water per-minute. If you’ve got a regular, old fashioned style shower head, they can use up to 20 litres of water per-minute.

Washing your dishes by hand uses considerably more water than the dishwasher. A typical sink can hold between 25-30 litres, where as the average dishwasher uses just 13 litres! Not to mention it’s far easier to chuck dishes in the dishwasher as opposed to washing each individual item! What are you waiting for?

The age old debate! This obviously depends on the length of your showers and how much you like to fill your bath! But put frank; it can be said that a bath uses more water than a shower. Obviously, if you like standing under the shower for 30 minutes, sitting in a bath will probably be more efficient. But hey, for the average person, who takes average length showers, (5-8 minutes) a shower is more cost effective.
Front Loader or Top Loader; Which is more efficient?
Front loaders win the trophy in efficiency and cost effectiveness. A front loader can use 1/3 of the amount of water, detergent and energy as compared to a top loader. Front loaders are typically more expensive to purchase, but in the long run, pay dividends to your savings! And the average life expectancy of a washing machine is 11 years, so that’s a fair amount of savings!
