We were recently called to perform a roof leak repair in Malvern. A roof leak was reported at the property and we had two Melbourne plumbers attend site to resolve the matter.
The Details
Our plumbers inspected the roof at the front of the property, as this is where the reported leak was occurring. Upon inspection, the plumbers found a broken tile. Broken roof tiles can be caused by a range of factors, including poor installation, severe weather and heavy impact. When a roof tile is broken, the best solution is to replace it. Obviously this is to minimise the likelihood of a leak reoccurring. To temporarily stop the leak from occurring, the cracked tile was siliconed whilst the plumbers sourced a new roof tile.
Whilst inspecting the roof, the plumbers also found that the air conditioner pipes connecting to the roof could be contributing to a leak. Our plumbers recommended that metal flashing be fitted over the problem area to decrease the likelihood of another leak.
Tailoring Our Service
After discussing our findings with the client, they decided they wanted to firstly replace the roof tile. Their next step would involve investing in the flashings over the air conditioner pipes. If replacing the tile didn’t resolve the issue, they would reach out to Gallant again and invest in the flashing installation. We believe it’s important to understand the needs and different circumstances of our clients and then tailoring our service specifically to them.
From here, our plumbers proceeded to repair the roof leak by replacing the broken tile with a new one.
