Gutter Cleaning in Research – Melbourne Plumber
A team of two Melbourne Plumbers made their way for a gutter cleaning job in Research, requested by a primary school in the area. The school reported that the drain outside had damaged the carpet.
Our best plumbers in Melbourne realised that the stormwater pit is taking excessive water off the hill. It was likely that it was being blocked by silt and leaves. It was at this point that the plumbers ordered a Jetter and a CCTV scan to check that it is all clear. Subsequently, they removed multiple chunks of leaves and clumps of dirt.
The teachers had reported that there was water leaking out of the gutter. This was due to leaves being stuck in the short diameter downpipes that had leaf guards. This is common in Residential Plumbing. Our plumbers located 5 downpipes and proceeded to flush them with a pressured hose. Afterwards, they cleared the debris on top of the leaf guards.

Our plumbers returned to the site to carry out the CCTV and the Jetter that we recommended in our first visit. They jetted down the 150mm stormwater drain and created a clear line to a deeper pit on the oval. It was here that our plumbers found a rock that was responsible for clogging the pit. They pried it out and cleaned out as much other surrounding debris as they could.
As final recommendations for this case of gutter cleaning in Research, our plumbers noted that at a later date the school should look into getting a vacuum machine out of school hours. This would help to clean out the drains properly. Additionally, it would be useful in checking other pits due to the number of trees surrounding the drains.
