Arriving onsite, the plumber first inspected the existing gas meter and tested the gas line, finding that the existing gas valve on the hot water service was leaking. Rectifying this issue involved capping off the hot water system and retesting the line, to ensure this was where the issue was coming from.

He first installed a new gas line from the gas meter to the existing line near the kitchen. The next and final step was to instal a new gas valve on the hot water system.
