Gas Leak in Mont Albert
The team at Gallant were recently called out to a property in Mont Albert. The property was experiencing gas smells, therefore our plumbers arrived onsite in a timely manner to investigate.
At the beginning of the investigation, the Melbourne plumber could smell gas around the water meter. He proceeded to soap test the area and found the regulator vent leaking gas, producing bubbles with the soap test. The test indicated that this was the only place where the leak was occurring.
The next step was for the plumber to isolate the stove top , hydronic heater and the hot water service. Once isolated, the Melbourne plumber carried out a pressure test on the gas supply pipe which showed no drop in pressure. Reopening the gas supply to all appliances, our best plumber tested the line which again indicated no pressure drop.
The final test was for the plumber to reconnect the gas meter whilst leaving the gas supply to the property isolated. This indicated a leak in the gas meter which needed to be reported to the local gas company.
Notifying the client of the results of his investigation, he then notified the gas company of the issue. The result required the gas company to follow up with the client to rectify this issue, who then attended the day after and rectified the clients issue
